It's my joy to create warm, cinematic images that feel like home.
2017 has been the year of prisming, double exposures, magical light, & a whole lot of love. I’ve had so many people come to me after an engagement session with me and tell me they had so much fun and would’ve been a whole lot less nervous if they’d known it would be that easy/that they would get to makeout with their S.O. for two hours. And that to me is #goals.
This year has been transformative for me. While i’ve been full time for a few years, this was the year that I left part time work behind and dove in 100% to my photography business. Personal setbacks aside, I have hustled and I have had an amazing year. Long story short- I’ve been interested in photography since I was a kid, but really got into it in high school. I always thought it would just be a fun hobby, but to my surprise (and pleasure!) it became a very real job for me. Since I’m an artist to my core, I am a little nerdy about my work and I take great pride in making something magical.
If you’ve worked with me you know that I get excited over good light and if I get a vision for something a spark goes off and I become impossible to understand for a moment. There’s this feeling that I get- butterflies almost- when i know I’ve made something truly special.
In the past year, I’ve traveled all over the country making photographs, hiking, exploring, and (most importantly) learning & growing. I will continue all of these things in 2018 and beyond, but one big thing I’ve learned is that while glorious landscapes make glorious photos, the thing that makes them special is the people in them. Photographs are our best way to document our moments. The significance of specific photos may vary over time, but I promise that at least one time in your life a photograph will mean everything to you.
Looking forward to 2018 doesn’t mean letting go of the past. Everything that’s lead to this moment has shaped who I am and what I do. So this year, I have a few goals in mind. But most importantly, I want to be more present. I want to spend more time with the people I love. I want to practice self-love & self-care to be the best of version of myself. I want to stand tall and strong after climbing mountains and I want to see new places. I want to remember that we are only here for a short time, so we should go ahead and enjoy the splendor that’s all around us…
