It's my joy to create warm, cinematic images that feel like home.
Tyler and Morgan initially reached out to me about shooting their wedding and when their plans changed to move their elopement to St. Lucia, we were all super bummed I wouldn’t be able to travel out to shoot their wedding (tooooo expensive y’all). I had an engagement session contest a few months ago and these guys won! I was so excited and I know Morgan was, too. I mean… Tyler was the most stoked obviously.
We were chatting about an adventure session- waterfalls, mountains, the works… but we weren’t excited about anything close to Atlanta. So I suggested roadtripping to Asheville for the session. It worked perfectly because it was Morgan’s birthday and it was really close to mine. Excuse to make it work? YES!
We first went to Looking Glass Falls and were headed to a hiking spot in the Blue Ridge Mountains when we got stopped with a road blockage. I remembered seeing a lookout point a little ways back down the mountain so suggested we just go back there and I’d find some magic. We surely did. The frozen icicles remind of Game of Thrones and with a dog named Tyrion, you know I was heart eyeing all over the place. Hope you love these guys as much as I do!
Just a thing… Tyler gets told often that he looks like white Drake; I think you can really see that here. 😉
“We met in 2012 at Dekalb Medical while both in X-ray school. He moved to GA from Iowa and lived with his aunt and uncle while he went to school. After graduation we both got jobs at Dekalb Medical as technologists and even hung out as friends outside of school and work for years. Towards the end of 2016, we realized we felt something that was more than just friends and started dating.”
“Our vision for the wedding is just something small, intimate, and simple. We will be getting married at sunset on the beach in paradise (St. Lucia) at the end of October.”
“He planned a weekend getaway to Florida and arranged for both of our moms to be there, but hurricane Irma had other plans. We decided at the last minute to go to Biloxi, MS because we still wanted to get away for the weekend. After dinner one night we were taking pictures and while we were posing for the picture, he turns and gets down on one knee while our moms were taking photos and videoing the whole thing. We knew we wanted to get married and had definitely talked about it, but I had no idea that he was going to propose then! We both got a little teary-eyed and with our moms there to be a part of it, it was the sweetest moment ever.”
“I honestly don’t know what I would do without Tyler in my life- He’s my best friend and THE BEST friend I could ask for. If I ever feel discouraged, worried, or doubtful he always has a solution or encouraging word. He is my rock, shoulder to lean on, and so much more. I love being in his presence, he makes me laugh every single day. He has taught me to not take life so seriously and have fun. He is my sunshine. We are so in-tune with each other, and I don’t think there is anyone else that could be more perfect for me.
There is a (Beau Taplin) quote that I came across that I love so much because it describes my feelings for Tyler and our relationship so perfectly: ‘Somebody who betters you, somebody who inspires and encourages you in love and in life, who pushes you towards dreams and goals you’d otherwise ignore, who selflessly sacrifices their time to help you become a more courageous, well rounded and happy human being. That’s sacred. You hold on to a love like that.’ “
Tyler says, “One of the things I love about Morgan is simply her ability to make me feel at ease, 100% comfortable. It doesn’t matter what I have going on, one smile and everything else doesn’t matter. She is the most caring and selfless person, always thinking of others before herself. She is my best friend, my other half, and I couldn’t imagine the rest of my life with out her.”
