It's my joy to create warm, cinematic images that feel like home.
ONE – Choose a vibe that fits you as a couple. Some folks choose to do in-home sessions. Some like hiking. Some like parks. Others are into the city and skyline views. I’m into all of these things, but of course have my favorites of each. Once I know your vibe, I’ll give you location suggestions to make the session of your dreams.
TWO- Timing is super, duper important for your engagement session. Most of the photos you’ll see in my engagement sessions are during what we like to call golden hour – the hour leading to sunset. Sunrise also yields similarly glowy light, it just happens way too dang early in the morning.
THREE- Believe in yourself, dammit. I’ve never had a single client that I couldn’t take a beautiful, badass photo of. Wear something that feels like the best version of YOU. Be comfortable. Don’t overthink it. Have you watched Queer Eye yet? GO GET SOME WISDOM FROM THOSE BABES. Take care of yourself leading up to the shoot, spend the day hanging out with your lover if you can, and come to the shoot relaxed and refreshed. It makes a HUGE difference, trust me.
FOUR- Forget the rules, forget the conventions. I may take 2 photos the whole shoot where you’re looking at the camera. I’m mostly going to have you in super lovey poses and focusing on each other, holding hands and walking, just hanging out together. We can get drinks before or after, we can run through the streets, we can go to a waterfall, we can get cotton candy, we can have fun. Just let go!
